Waltraud Dehning studied informatics and linguistics in the nineteen seventies at the University of Hamburg. The main point of research during her studies was the design of user friendly human machine interaction. The results of her investigations were published in 1980 in the “Lecture Notes in Computer Science” by the Springer-Verlag under the title “The Adaption of Virtual Man-Computer Interfaces to User Requirements in Dialogs”.
With a total commitment to test this theoretical approach in practice, she started her professional career. She has been working in various specialist and management positions in the broad field of consultancy in and outside Germany for almost 30 years now.
She is the initiator and active designer of the advisor network BRANTA. Her consultancy is focusing on knowledge management, project management and in the organization of virtual companies.
As an add-on she teaches IT Management, Software Engineering and IT Service Management at the University of applied sciences of Frankfurt.
Research interests
Within the framework of the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) support programme Innovative Development of Work – Future of Work she directed and managed the joint project VIRKON - Working in VIRtual Constructs, Organisations and Networks - (2004-2007). The aim of the project was to analyse the working conditions of knowledge entrepreneurs freelancing in networks and to develop competence supportive as well as technical and organisational measures and procedure models to create a sustainable labour situation for this target group.
Together with Johannes Glückler she initiated the project Krea.Nets and she plans to graduate within this project.
