Open Stage Event ‘Home(s) Remixed’: Migration, Culture, and Belonging

On May 14, 2026, the AG North America, together with Junior Professor Yaatsil Guevara and Rhea Molkenthin from the Heidelberg Center for Ibero-American Studies (HCIAS), hosted an open stage evening at Zentrale im Karlstorbahnhof under the theme “Heimat(en) remixed.” The event was supported and accompanied by the Freies Hip-Hop Institut, the City of Heidelberg, and the Community Arts Center.

The aim was to engage artistically with questions of migration, culture, and belonging in the city of Heidelberg. The stage became an open space for diverse perspectives - for voices, bodies, sounds, and stories revolving around “home and belonging”

This diverse and well-attended evening was part of the event series of the Collaborative Research Center 1671 Home(s): Phenomena, Practices, Representations at Heidelberg University.
