Anna Buch

Anna Buch is a Research Associate at the GIScience Research Group of the Institute of Geography in Heidelberg with a background in geography and geoinformatics. Her research focuses on how people in data-scarce regions can be better protected from natural hazards and their impacts. It involves the inclusion of indigenous knowledge into the modelling process alongside data.

Research Interests
  • Risk assessment, adaptation and mitigation strategies
  • Probabilistic modelling and uncertainty quantification
  • Climate Action & Humanitarian Aid
  • Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI)
  • Historical data and projections of climate and socio-economic factors
