In the course of the cultural turn in human geography and the spatial turn in the cultural and social sciences, concepts are increasingly discussed within these disciplines which address the discursive constitution and reproduction of spaces and regionalizations.
The summer school discourse and space
offers doctoral and graduate students in human geography and the neighboring cultural and social sciences an introduction into theories of space-oriented discourse analyses, introduces into ways of empirical operationalization and provides assistance for the conception of own research projects. The summer school is conducted by a group of human geography scholars who have cooperated in the scientific network discourse analysis in human geography
since several years and who lately published the handbook discourse and space
(Handbuch Diskurs und Raum) together.
