Dr. Nicole Aeschbach

Dr. Nicole Aeschbach (née Vollweiler) heads the TdLab Geography (Transdisciplinarity Laboratory) at the Institute of Geography at Heidelberg University. After having served as executive director of the Heidelberg Center for the Environment (HCE) at Heidelberg University since 2011, she worked as coordinator at the Department of Environmental Systems Science at ETH Zurich from April to December 2017. In addition to her research and teaching at the Institute of Geography, Nicole works freelance for the mobility platform at ETH Zurich and develops concepts in the field of sustainable mobility.

One focus of Nicole Aeschbach's work in research, teaching and communication is the area of Geographies of Climate Change. In the Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Master of Education (Geography), Nicole offers courses on climate change research, environmental ethics, environmental and landscape history, and education for sustainable development (ESD) as authorized examiner. Nicole Aeschbach has regularly supervised theses in these fields for many years.
