Yannick Eckhardt, M.Sc.
Yannick Eckhardt joined the Economic Geography Group in March 2022. Previously, he worked as a department manager for a large grocery retailer, where his responsibilities included location decisions. He earned his master's degree from Heidelberg University in geography with a focus on economic geography. In his thesis, he examined from an institutional perspective how innovation can unfold despite resistance. The resulting scholarly article shows that "institutional folding" can serve to legitimize practices that go against established laws and norms. He completed his bachelor's degree in economics with a second subject in cultural geography at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg.
Yannick teaches courses and leads field trips in economic and human geography at the Institute of Geography.
