The creative Heidelberg

Recent studies confirm the high economic and social significance of the cultural and creative industries in Germany. This project analyzes the cultural and creative industries in the city of Heidelberg. It pursues the goal to identify and evaluate the economic impact, sectoral structure and the opportunities for their growth in Heidelberg on the basis of a comparable inter-regional analysis. The study focuses on the detection of the municipal economic structure of creative economic sectors as well as the determination of the role of the university as a source of creative economic development in Heidelberg. A multi-method approach, encompassing statistical analyses as well as qualitative interviews, will produce a diverse picture of the situation of the cultural and creative industries of Heidelberg.
