We deeply mourn the loss of our dear colleague and friend Peter Meusburger who passed away on 18 December 2017. In his memory we have gathered some obituaries on this site.
Peter Meusburger had the Chair of Economic and Social Geography at Heidelberg University from 1983 to 2007. From 2007 to 2017 he was Distinguished Senior Professor.
Peter Meusburger Doctoral Prize
The Peter Meusburger Doctoral Prize is awarded for outstanding PhD theses in the field of geography and knowledge. The prize serves to commemorate Professor Peter Meusburger and honours his distinguished service to geography and in particular to the geography of education and knowledge. Awarding the prize, Peter Meusburger’s students express gratitude to their academic teacher and cultivate their interaction and team spirit.
