Ethnic Minorities in the United States

The socioeconomic situation of ethnic minorities is summarized and explained through a specific approach which includes an analysis of school infrastructure and educator qualifications in underserved areas and the academic accomplishments of minorities. For one portion of minorities, failure in the school system (high dropout rates) is an important result/indicator of the vicious cycle of poverty: while for others above average academic work is an important instrument for upward social mobility. This project analyzes the regional and social desparities in educational levels, the developmental behaviors, and the school to workplace transition of three ethnic minority groups in the US.
