Mobility and career paths of professors currently working in Baden-Württemberg

This project investigates the regional and social origins, career paths and regional mobility of C3 and C4 professors currently working at universities in Baden-Württemberg. Social origin refers to the occupational and educational level of the parents. Regional origin, progression of the career path and stages of regional mobility are analyzed using birthplace, place of high school graduation, place of college/university education, place of doctoral education, place of post-doctoral education, and job locations(s). Various types of career paths are differentiated. The study is based upon survey of all C3 and C4 professors in Baden-Württemberg.
