Johann Braun Background
Since October 2022, I have been a Post-doc Researcher at the Chair of Human Geography at the Institute of Geography at Heidelberg University. After studying Cultural Geography, Sociology, and Journalism at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, I worked there on the history of ideas and research in urban geography. Starting in 2018, I developed a PhD project at the intersection of Political Geography and Urban Geography (funded by the Hans Böckler Foundation). I was awarded my doctorate in 2022 at Erlangen-Nuremberg University with a thesis on far-right urban policies in the past and present. In the meantime, I worked at the University of Halle from 2021 to 2022. Since 2019, I have also been part of the academic network "Territorialisierungen der radikalen Rechten" (Territorializations of the Radical Right), funded by the German Research Foundation.
