13–15 August 2025, Copenhagen Global Health Solutions 2025

Due to our membership in the 4EU+ Alliance Heidelberg University has the opportunity to send a group of students to the international “Global Health Solutions 2025” case challenge in Copenhagen. The event is organised by the UCPH Lighthouse Innovation Centre and the School of Global Health at the University of Copenhagen, and is aimed at students interested in global health-related issues.

Global Health Solutions is a three-day innovation sprint where approximately 50 students from various disciplines work together in interdisciplinary teams on a real-world global health challenge. This year’s theme is “Managing Chronic Disease in War Zones”, developed in collaboration with the Danish Red Cross.

Throughout the programme, participants will strengthen their problem-solving, design thinking, innovation, and communication skills. They will learn to navigate complex global health issues—such as equity, social justice, power structures, and the post-colonial legacy in health care—while also developing practical skills like pitching and stakeholder mapping.

Each team will present their solution to a jury, and the most promising one will be awarded with a trip to Geneva to present their idea in October at the 2025 SDG Olympiad, an international student competition hosted by the SDG Solution Space at the University of Geneva. Before Geneva, the winning team will receive professional mentoring and support from innovation experts at UCPH Lighthouse
