Call for Papers VGI and Remote Sensing for Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Environments

A special issue invites submissions on integrating Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI) and remote sensing to address sustainability and climate resilience challenges. The combination of community-generated data (e.g., from OpenStreetMap) and large-scale remote sensing data offers opportunities to monitor and assess climate risks, such as flooding, heatwaves, and land use changes. Topics of interest include infrastructure vulnerabilities, disaster response, green space monitoring, and optimizing climate-adaptive designs. Contributions should explore novel methodologies, interdisciplinary applications, and the complementary strengths of these data sources in fostering sustainable and climate-resilient environments. Submissions are encouraged by the deadline of May 2025.
