C-Newtral Summer School

The C-NEWTRAL Summer School, held in Heidelberg from 28 June to 4 July 2026, brought together twelve doctoral researchers from partner universities in Heidelberg, Dublin, Belfast, Helsinki, Bologna and Girona. The programme combined research presentations, expert discussions, practical training and site visits related to citizen participation, community engagement and sustainable neighbourhood development. 

Organised and led by Prof.Dr. Ulrike Gerhard, the Summer School benefited greatly from her commitment, local knowledge and guidance, which helped participants explore Heidelberg and gain deeper insights into its urban development projects. Another memorable highlights was the part of the programme in Annweiler, where the group took part in a unique wellbeing and mindful-leadership experience led by Christoph Glaser, combining reflection, resilience, breathing practices and stronger team connection within the C-NEWTRAL network.
