About the project

The main research aims are to: (a) analyse the effect of digital encounters between migrants and locals on transcultural understanding; (b) to compare the effects of digital and offline encounters on transcultural understanding and their interlinkages; and (c) compare differences and commonalities in the migration pathways, networks, aspirations, mobility and settlement plans between the three migrant groups.

The field research for this project was funded by the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore.
