Interactive workshops for ZQ Sustainability, presented by Dr Nicole Aeschbach, Dr Kathrin Foshag and TdLab Geography students: Images for change, Between climate anxiety and courage for the future.

The future we want – Workshop with Prof. Dr. Thomas Hoffmann on the solution-oriented approach in the context of education for sustainable development (ESD).

Opening reception for the exhibition “Aesthetics of Climate Change Adaptation | Science Meets Art” on April 4, 2025, at the Bürgerhaus B3, Gadamerplatz. Organizers: Bahnstadt District Association in cooperation with the Heidelberg Environmental Office and the TdLab Geography. The exhibition will be on view until mid-July 2025.

Dr. Nicole Aeschbach as keynote speaker at the event “Climate in the Head: Emotions, Resilience and Action in Times of Climate Change” (PRIO1 in cooperation with the Central Student Advisory Service of Heidelberg University (ZSB)).

Dr Nicole Aeschbach and Dr Kathrin Foshag are participating in the Master's network on climate emotions as part of the internationalisation project 'Moral Emotions in the Green Transition' (HSE cooperation). An international autumn school will be held in October as part of this project.

New publication by Kathrin Foshag, Teresa Ruckelshauß, Ann-Kathrin Schlieszus, Nicole Aeschbach and Alexander Siegmund on 'The Impact of Structured Professional Development on Promoting Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Higher Education' in HINT (5/2024).

Successful application for funding in the MWK program "Attractive MINT Studies: Initiative Program for the Future-Oriented and Innovative Development of MINT Study Programs" with the proposal "Conception and Implementation of the MINT Focus Area Transformative Environmental Research (TrafU) in the Master's Program in Geography".

HEAL project completion in September 2024.

After more than three years, we are successfully completing the transdisciplinary project "Heat Adaptation for Vulnerable Populations (HEAL)." The numerous products (including the HEAL app for cool, shady routes in Heidelberg) and results will continue to flow into follow-up projects, research on heat adaptation, and heat protection measures by the Heidelberg city administration.
