Deaktivierte Dienste Heidelberg-3D im XNavigator
With the XNavigator you can immerse into the virtual city model of Heidelberg by yourself. The software contains many functions and features that have been developed within the GDI3D project, such as the 3D route planning, retrieving addresses and coordinates, links to an internet tourism portal in which you can find interesting information on local sights.
The XNavigator can be simply started via a Java Webstart link, all necessary software components will be downloaded. The software in programmed completely in Java and utilizes Java3D for the 3D rendering. The OpenGL hardware acceleration of the graphics card is used for high-performance 3D graphics, in addition to special software optimizations.
Terms of Usage
Any Data and Software that are made available by our Services is property of the University of Heidelberg, the City of Heidelberg, and other project partners (Owners) and must not be copied, analyzed (any form of hacking, decompiling, reverse engineering), distributed, or assembled into other software without explicit permission of the Owners. Data is any electronic content such as 3D models, aerial images, surface models, maps, textures, and information layers, that are downloaded from our servers. Software is any programs, that are downloaded from our servers, and is required in order to use our services, als well as any server programs, that are installed on our servers providing data and services. For using screenshots in publications, journals, press releases, newsletters, blogs, or similar purposes, please refer to our project website.
The 3D Model of the University campus in the Neuenheimer Feld was kindly provided by Nicolai Freiwald and was created for a PhD Thesis.
