The Institute of Geography is home to a range of facilities dedicated to research and teaching. Further services and resources - both within the Institute and across the university - provide additional support for students.

The study programmes in Heidelberg uniquely combine natural, social, and technical sciences perspectives. A particular emphasis is placed on innovative methods, hands-on training, and a balanced approach to human geography, physical geography, and geoinformatics.

In addition to its regular course offerings in Germany, the Institute of Geography provides opportunities for students to gain international experience as part of their studies. It also offers courses specifically designed for international students.
