Institute Physical Geography
Within Geography Physical Geography is the branch of natural science which deals with the processes and patterns in the natural environment such as the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and geosphere.

Physical Geography researches the earth's surface. This means the geosphere with its five sub spheres that are:
- Lithosphere (the outermost rocky shell of earth: going approximately 200 km deep)
- Pedosphere (soil)
- Hydrosphere (water sources: fluvial landforms, lakes, seas, glaciers)
- Biosphere (All environments of flora und fauna)
- Atmosphere (layer of gas mixture that surrounds the planet)
